Ingredients
- Toor Dal-1 Cup
- Water-4 Cup
- Turmeric-1 tsp
- Salt-3 tsp
- Asafoetida (Hing)-a pinch
- Onion-1 1/2 Cups (Diced)
- Tomato-2 Cups (Diced)
- Curry leaves-8
- Cilantro-1/2 cup
- Tamarind pulp-1 tsp
- Sambhar Powder-4 tsp
- Mustard Seeds-1 1/2 tsp
- Whole Red Chili-3
- Oil-1 tbsp
- Cook toor dal with water, turmeric, asafoetida and salt in the pressure cooker.
- At least wait for 5 long whistles.
- Once dal is cooked, add onion, tomatoes, curry leaves, tamarind pulp and sambhar powder.
- Boil till everything becomes tender.
- Take a pan.
- Put oil inl.
- Heat it.
- Put mustard seeds and whole red chili.
- Pour it into the Sambhar.
- Use MTR sambhar powder.
- If it's a dry tamarind, then soak it for an hour.
- If you want it early, then soak it in the warm water.
- You can add vegetables.
- Bottel Gourd, Okra, Eggplant, Raddish, Cluster Beans, Beans, Carrot and Drumsticks also taste good in Sambhar.
