Chana Dal Vada

(Around 20)

Ingredients

  • Chana Dal-1 cup
  • Ginger-1/4 inch
  • Currry Leaves-5-6
  • Whole Red Chilies-3
  • Green Chilies-1
  • Water-1/4 cup
  • Fine Chopped Onion-2 tbsp
  • Cilantro-1/4 cup
  • Salt-1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric-1/4
  • Asafoetida (Hing)-a pinch
  • Oil for deep frying
Method
  1. Soak channa dal for 6 hours.
  2. After that, drain all the water out.
  3. Take a grinder and put soaked chana dal, ginger, curry leaves, whole red chilies, green chili, salt, turmeric, hing and water.
  4. Grind it, don't make a fine paste.
  5. Grind it coarsely.
  6. Add chopped onion and cilantro.
  7. Mix it properly.
  8. Now take a pan, put oil in, and heat it.
  9. Take a small amount of batter in your hand and flatten it and put it into the oil.
  10. Fry it in medium flame till it gets golden brown.
