Rajma (Kidney beans)
(Serves 4-5 people)
- Rajma (Kidney beans)-3 cups
- Water-8 cups
- Chopped Onion-2 cup
- Chopped Garlic-2 tbsp
- Chopped Ginger-2 tbsp
- Chopped Green Chilies-1 tbsp
- Fresh Tomato Puree-2 cups
- Turmeric-1 tsp
- Coriander powder-3 tsp
- Red Chili Powder-1 tsp
- Garam Masala-2 tsp
- Salt-2 -3 tsp
- Oil-1/2 cup
- Cilantro
Method
- Boil rajma (kidney beans) with water in the pressure cooker.
- After first whistle, low the flame and cook it for at least for 20-25 mins.
- Now take a pan, put oil in and heat it.
- Now put onions, ginger, garlic and green chilies.
- Fry them till they get golden brown.
- Now add tomatoes, turmeric, coriander powder, red chili powder, salt and garam masala.
- Mix everything properly and cook till oil comes out.
- Now add this mixture and as much water as needed in the pressure cooker in which you have boiled rajma (kidney beans).
- Give one more whistle and turn the flame off.
- Garnish with cilantro.
