Mix Dal (Massor & Toovar)

Ingredients
  • Massor Dal-1/2 cup
  • Toovar Dal-1/2 cup
  • Thin Sliced Onion-1/4 cup
  • Thin Sliced Garlic-1 tsp
  • Green Chilies-2-3
  • Turmeric-1/2 tsp
  • Tomatoes-1 medium size
  • Salt-1 1/4 tsp
  • Water-5 cups
  • Cilantro
  • Oil-2 tbsp
Method
  1. Wash both the dals.
  2. Take a pressure cooker, put oil and heat it.
  3. Put onion, garlic and green chilies.
  4. Stir it and cook till it gets golden brown.
  5. Now add turmeric and diced tomatoes.
  6. Cook for a while.
  7. Now add dal, salt and water.
  8. Cover the lid and give around 5 long whistle.
  9. Garnish with cilantro.
Tips
  • Amount of water and cooking time can vary because of dal.
